We are very proud to announce that Canan Doksat has been promoted to Managing Associate, as of July 1, 2021.
She graduated from Koç University, Faculty of Law in 2010 and completed her LL.M degree in economic law at Istanbul Bilgi University.
Ms. Doksat, who started her career at Ernst and Young in 2010, joined the team of Erdem & Erdem in 2018. She leads the Tax Department of Erdem & Erdem and provides advisory and litigation services for national and international companies concerning tax and customs disputes and company restructuring projects.
She provides legal advisory services in relation to company restructuring projects by considering the tax law aspects of the transactions such as a merger, spin-off, company type amendment, capital in kind contribution, asset deals. The scope of the services includes the determination of the most efficient restructuring alternative and also the implementation stage of the relevant transaction in terms of tax and commercial law.
The scope of the services that she provides also includes the evaluation of the tax inspection procedure and the tax inspection report, management of the pre-assessment and post-assessment reconciliation procedures, initiation and pursuit of the tax litigation process, and management of the individual application procedure before the Constitutional Court.
Moreover, she focuses on the reconciliation procedure against the customs duties and fines before the relevant customs authorities, preparation of the petitions of the objection, pursuit of the objection procedure, and management of the whole customs litigation process.
She also provides tax and legal advisory services regarding the analysis of the technical insolvency/bankruptcy situations and the determination of legal alternatives for the elimination of the referred financial situations in addition to corporate law transactions such as general assembly meetings, capital increase and decrease.
