Piper Alderman has opened an office in Perth, Western Australia, marking a major milestone in its national growth strategy.
The office will be the fifth established by the firm after Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The Perth office will further strengthen Piper Alderman’s position as one of Australia’s leading, and fastest growing, commercial law firms and enable further expansion of its offering to clients through both geography and capability.
Piper Alderman is building on its long-standing client relationships and work in the Western Australian market by appointing two new local partners to head up its first Perth office which opened today (July 1).
Shane Entriken and Paul Sartori, both of whom have decades of experience, will lead the new office. They are joined by a well-established team who also have strong local profiles and experience and will be looking to grow the team through local hires over the coming months.
Piper Alderman’s national Managing Partner Tony Britten-Jones said he was delighted that Paul and Shane and their team would be opening Piper Alderman’s Perth office.
“Shane and Paul are both well-established and respected within the Western Australian business and legal communities with the skills and experience to establish and grow the Perth office,” said Mr Tony Britten-Jones.
“While Piper Alderman is a national firm, our approach to expansion is about finding the best local people with local knowledge and supporting them to deliver industry-leading advice and services to clients.”
The initial focus will be establishing Piper Alderman’s office with foundation clients and then expanding the client base in key sectors including mining and resources, construction and engineering, healthcare, education and government. In line with Piper Alderman’s approach to growth, the Perth office will merge deep local knowledge and expertise with the capacity and network of the national firm, with value flowing both ways for local clients.
Shane Entriken, a nationally recognised leader in employment, industrial relations and workplace health and safety law, will significantly strengthen Piper Alderman’s overall national Employment Relations team. He is a trusted advisor to senior executives and boards, acts as general counsel for some clients, and is a skilled negotiator and advocate in courts and tribunals.
“Piper Alderman has been servicing clients in WA for many years,” said Mr. Entriken. “We have exciting plans to grow the firm in the West by attracting good local talent and I look forward to playing my part in leading that growth and continuing to be a market leader in what we deliver for clients.”
Paul Sartori brings local and international experience and expertise to the firm’s national corporate and M&A practice, having advised on and managed, a wide range of international and domestic corporate transactions during a career spanning London and Perth. His depth of knowledge and experience in corporate and commercial advice and transactions and the equity capital markets will be highly beneficial to Piper Alderman clients.
“We are looking forward to bringing the breadth and depth of the Piper Alderman team to clients,” said Mr Sartori.
“We have a strong team in place from day one and look forward to expanding our local offering with energetic experts and leaders in their field.”
In a significant value add for the local Western Australian market, the new local team will be able to leverage the internal capacity of Piper Alderman to provide an even stronger service to clients, allowing them to utilise the national reach of the firm.
The Perth office is located in the heart of the city’s CBD on Level 29, 77 St George Terrace, Perth
