Lewis Roca announced Ari Hoffman and Ben Moffitt have joined the firm as Associates. Hoffman is a member of the Litigation Practice Group and Moffitt is a member of the firm’s Business Transactions Practice Group.
Hoffman has experience completing intensive research on novel legal issues in a variety of federal and state litigation contexts, in addition to writing on a wide array of high-stakes complex litigation matters, including insurance and bankruptcy litigation, evidentiary disputes, and class actions.
Before he joined the firm, Hoffman completed specialized academic and clinical work focusing on mediation, negotiation, and settlement procedures. He also mediated landlord-tenant disputes and conducted legal analysis for impact litigation in support of school equity in St. Louis while at Washington University’s Civil Rights, Community Justice & Mediation Clinic. Hoffman received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law and his B.S. with honors, from Indiana University.
Moffitt focuses his practice on structuring business and real estate transactions. He assists clients with merger and acquisition transactions, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, joint ventures, and the formation of business entities.
Prior to joining the firm, Moffitt was a certified public accountant at a public accounting firm. As a CPA, he regularly consulted for corporations, partnerships, non-profit organizations, and high net worth individuals to ensure tax compliance and to identify, research, and implement tax planning strategies. With a unique perspective as a CPA, Moffitt is able to assist clients with various tax matters. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, a Master of Taxation, magna cum laude, and his B.S., summa cum laude, from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business.
