When we began making plans for McLeod Law's 40th anniversary, who would have imagined the year would be defined by a global pandemic?
We started the year with big plans. A stand-out client celebration. A chance to bring partners, staff and their families together. Intimate group events in our new downtown office. Instead, we diverted our event funds to local charities in need, adapted to working in new ways, and found creative solutions to working with our clients, who were also adapting to new realities.
Still, we didn’t want to end the year without honouring our history and myriad of clients, lawyers, staff and partners who have made McLeod Law what it is today. We’re proud to have grown with the Calgary community since 1980, from two lawyers and two staff to 56 lawyers and 80 staff, and from a specialty firm to one that boasts more than 40 areas of practice. Forty years has taught us about resiliency, collaboration and the value of a tight-knit team with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Celebrating an anniversary isn’t just about looking back - it’s also about looking forward. It is our vision that McLeod Law will continue to live by our entrepreneurial roots as we adapt and grow with our clients. And no matter our size, our services, or the complement of our team, we will always maintain the small firm service for which we are known.
