Casner & Edwards partner Sharon C. Lincoln spoke at the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) webinar, “COVID-19 Relief for Nonprofits – Demystifying the CARES Act, FFCRA, and Other Forms of State and Federal Relief,” April 21, 2020, in Boston, MA. In this legislative update, Lincoln and fellow presenters provided an informative overview of recent state and federal legislation that offer relief to nonprofit organizations affected by COVID-19.
Lincoln advises nonprofit entities on the wide range of issues related to their tax-exempt status, including formation, funding, governance, executive compensation (including deferred compensation), regulatory compliance, restructuring, international grant making, lobbying, unrelated business income, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, she assists clients in matters directly involving the Internal Revenue Service, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, including audits, appeals and ruling requests.
