Piper Alderman is delighted to announce 3 new partner promotions with effect from 1 October 2020, taking the firm’s partnership numbers to 77.
The three new partners are Lachlan Lamont based in our Brisbane office and Jonathan Hidayat and Ben Motro based in our Sydney office.
Lachlan Lamont, Dispute Resolution & Litigation – Brisbane
Lachlan joined Piper Alderman in 2010, working with litigation partner, Greg Whyte. With over 10 years’ experience as a commercial litigator, Lachlan has significant expertise in advising clients on commercial disputes. He regularly acts in large scale litigation, and has particular expertise in contractual disputes, class actions, and litigation funded claims. Lachlan is currently managing two major class actions from our Brisbane office including the Queensland Energy class action and the Ardent Leisure Group class action.
Jonathan Hidayat, Restructuring & Insolvency – Sydney
Jonathan joined Piper Alderman in 2016 as an associate working with insolvency partner, Thomas Russell. He specialises in restructuring, corporate and personal insolvency and general commercial disputes. Jonathan advises and represents liquidators, administrators, receivers, bankruptcy trustees directors and lenders in relation to business restructuring and insolvency issues. Jonathan is a member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association and is a committee member of the CPA Taxation Discussion Group.
Ben Motro, Employment Relations – Sydney
Ben joined Piper Alderman in 2010 as an associate, working with employment relations partner, Tim Capelin. Ben provides advice to clients in all areas of employment law, industrial relations and workplace health and safety, and in a variety of industries, including the IT, retail, manufacturing, food & beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. In the 2018 edition of The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific, Ben was recommended for Labour & employment. Ben has been responsible for managing the firm’s workplace training program for our clients and is frequently asked to present at external conferences.
