The latest edition of Chambers USA once again ranked Herrick’s real estate, New Jersey litigation and sports law practices for excellence, in addition to naming six Herrick partners as leading individuals in these areas.
Real Estate
For the 14th consecutive year, Herrick’s Real Estate Department was ranked one of New York’s top real estate law practices. Chambers USA commended Herrick as an "established real estate group, assisting clients with the financing and execution of complex acquisitions and developments." They also mention that Herrick is "adept at securing land use and zoning permits for real estate owners and developers," and that the Real Estate team "offers a strong network of governmental and agency contacts as well as public sector experience." When discussing the firm’s ability, one client stated Herrick, "consistently provides excellent legal services, guidance and advice." Another client praised Herrick's "very experienced, knowledgeable lawyers."
Two Herrick real estate partners were again recognized for excellence – Belinda Schwartz for New York Real Estate and Mitchell Korbey for Zoning & Land Use. Chambers USA noted that Belinda "demonstrates great experience across a range of real estate issues, and frequently handles acquisition, development and leasing matters concerning a wide variety of asset classes," and referring to Mitch, noted that he "advises a diverse client roster on complex zoning projects including rezoning and matters relating to development."
Litigation
For the eighth year in a row, Herrick’s Litigation Department was ranked for excellence in New Jersey commercial litigation. The team was noted for handling "a wide spectrum of civil litigation, including complex commercial disputes, real estate litigation and commercial foreclosures; [a]n impressive client roster includes high-profile players from a number of industries, such as financial institutions and food and beverage multinationals."
Two Herrick litigation partners were also named leading individuals in New Jersey. Ronald Levine was once again ranked in products liability, most notably for his "extensive experience in the handling of product liability class actions involving product recalls, the Food Safety Modernization Act and FDA regulations." In commercial litigation, Scott Tross was once again ranked and recognized for his work "on behalf of corporations and individuals against lawsuits involving claims of breach of contract" and for his "expertise in matters concerning the real estate sector."
Scott E. Mollen was recognized for his work in New York Real Estate Litigation. Referred to as "a dean of the real estate litigation Bar" by a client, Scott is recognized as "a seasoned practitioner with notable experience in real estate disputes as part of a broader commercial real estate practice."
Sports Law
For the seventh year and counting, Herrick’s Sports Law Group was once again ranked for national excellence by Chambers USA, noting that Herrick is known for "its work with some of the most storied names in American sports, but also home to an ever-expanding client roster of teams, leagues and investors." Further adding that the sports law group "provides counsel on complex disputes and daily advisory needs across a number of sports," and "[r]egularly advises on multimillion-dollar financing and refinancing deals."
Herrick chairman Irwin Kishner was once more recognized as a leading individual who is described as "smart and knowledgeable," adding that he has "extensive experience handling large-scale corporate transactions in the sports space and possesses additional expertise in advising leagues, teams and media organizations on development and media rights agreements, among other issues."
