Blake Morgan will be hosting a virtual conference 24-26 November to help businesses prepare for the end of the Brexit transition phase at the close of 2020.
A packed programme filled with speakers showcasing our in-house experts and including leading industry partners is set to cover a diverse array of issues relating to how Brexit will impact businesses heading into 2021 and beyond. The conference is free to attend and attendees can register for sessions on the Blake Morgan website.
Bruce Potter, Chairman at Blake Morgan, and James Sloan, Senior Brexit Policy Advisor at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), will kick-start the programme with a presentation and discussion about the tpractical steps that businesses can take , ahead of the end of the transition period and a live Q&A on key issues. The first day of the conference will also include sessions on the future of data protection law, changes in immigration rules and the impact this will have for employers, and the effects of Brexit on intellectual property portfolios.
Day two of the conference will begin with a discussion on the future of the construction industry post-Brexit hosted by Richard Wade, Partner and Head of Construction at Blake Morgan. Other highlights from the second day include a panel discussion on how businesses can manage future commercial arrangements after 31 December 2020, and an essential employment session covering potential changes to employment law and to social security taxes as EU social security regulations will cease to apply when the year is out.
The final day of events will see a webinar on corporate tax, and the potential for a divergence in UK law which has previously been influenced by EU judgements. The conference will then finish with an exploration of how businesses can mitigate risk and combat disruption to supply chains once the transition period ends and Brexit comes into force.
