Eric C. Ellul is a highly-respected Gibraltar lawyer and Notary Public who has been in practice for over 50 years. He commenced his professional life in 1966 as a barrister in London where he also lectured at City of London College (now City of London University) and reported for the prestigious legal journal “The Weekly Law Reports”. He also used to be a regular contributor to a number of legal journals.
He established his own law firm in Gibraltar in 1973 where he initially specialised in matrimonial law and was the driving force behind law reform in this field. Today he is Gibraltar’s most experienced matrimonial lawyer. In 1986 he was appointed Notary Public by the Archbishop of Canterbury. He is also an experienced probate and employment practitioner. He has advised the Gibraltar Government on employment law reform and often sits as Chairman of the Industrial Tribunal.
In 2004 he was appointed by Her Majesty the Queen a Member of the British Empire. He remains in practice today as the senior partner of Ellul & Co.
