Jennifer Morrissey focuses her practice on all facets of immigration law.
IMMIGRATION
Jennifer represents individuals and employers in a variety of immigration matters for the high-tech, marketing, manufacturing, industrial and education sectors. She handles H and L visas for key executives, managerial and specialist personnel, and permanent residency ("green card") applications based on employment or family relationships. Jennifer speaks Spanish fluently and has more than 15 years of experience with labor certifications, immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, naturalization, deportation, special immigrant juvenile status, "U" visas, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions and asylum cases.
PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
Jennifer is former Chair of the Oregon chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Jennifer is a Special Assistant Attorney General to the Oregon Department of Justice, providing representation on complex immigration matters. Jennifer was a researcher and editor for the Lewis and Clark Law Review, and as an undergraduate, participated in the Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa. She regularly speaks to employer groups about important developments in immigration law.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
Jennifer was selected to Oregon Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. She has the highest ranking in Chambers USA, "America's Leading Lawyers for Business" (Immigration), and is the recipient of the Gerald H. Robinson Excellence in Advocacy Award. In 2017, Portland Monthly magazine honored Jennifer with its Light a Fire -- Rapid Reaction award for her work to bring an Iranian infant to Oregon for highly complex heart surgery after the child was denied a visa due to the so-called “Muslim travel ban.”
