After graduating with a law degree from Lausanne University Jean-Philippe Rochat works from 1981 to 1983 with the general secretariat of an international advertising group in Lausanne and abroad. He then joins an audit firm - in 1984 - where he performs audit work, before being admitted to the bar in 1987 and joining Carrard & Associés.
Very active in the field of sport, Jean-Philippe Rochat is the secretary general of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) from 1994 to 2000. He regularly acts as arbitrator or counsel in international arbitration cases, namely before the CAS or in commercial cases.
Jean-Philippe Rochat is a director of several Swiss and foreign companies. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA).
