Godwin Wangong’u is a founding member and Senior Partner of the firm. He is a graduate of the University of Nairobi and the Kenya School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Diploma in Law. Mr. Wangong’u was admitted to the Roll of Advocates of the High Court of Kenya in 1988.
Mr. Wangong’u began his legal practice in 1988 and established the firm of Wangong’u & Company Advocates in 1993. He has over 22 years of legal practice and experience in commercial and corporate practice. He has broad and extensive experience in transactional legal services, general corporate finance particularly mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, equity fund raising through private placement and initial public offers, securitization, corporate restructuring in private and listed companies. He also has extensive experience in intellectual property law in registration and protection of trademarks. He has also acted as legal counsel in various commercial disputes including representation in the superior and arbitral tribunals in the country. Mr. Wangong’u has been actively involved in the review of the Capital Markets Regulatory framework in Kenya.
