Jennifer Beerline’s practice includes estate and wealth transfer planning, fiduciary counseling and dispute resolution, trust and estate administration and philanthropy.
Estate planning invariably involves issues of great personal significance, and Jennifer has helped more than 100 individuals and families develop and achieve their goals for transferring wealth, caring for future generations, and charitable giving. Jennifer brings empathy, creativity and analytical skills to the work of understanding clients’ needs, calculating and presenting the relative legal and tax benefits of available strategies, and preparing clear, often highly customized legal documents, including revocable trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts, GRATs, charitable trusts, wills, powers of attorney and advance health care directives.
A significant portion of Jennifer’s practice involves the representation of fiduciaries, beneficiaries and charitable organizations in trust disputes, including challenges to the validity or interpretation of trusts or to the actions of a trustee. She frequently partners with litigators to help clients navigate these especially delicate matters in accordance with their goals.
Jennifer also advises trustees and beneficiaries in post-death and long-term trust administrations, prepares and reviews estate and gift tax returns, and counsels out-of-state clients regarding matters of California law.
