Jihoon (Paul) is a senior foreign attorney and partner at SEUM. He is called to the District of Columbia bar and has practiced in Korea since 2014. His area of practice focuses on foreign investment, private equity, and corporate law, advising on both inbound and outbound investment transactions relating to Korea. He carries significant expertise in advising on cross-border M&A and joint venture transactions, corporate governance, employment and labor, IP and licensing, as well as on a wide range of general corporate matters for many leading multinational corporations. He is also experienced in advising private equity and venture capital firms, regularly providing advisory work on inbound and outbound fund investments. Paul also has significant experience in advising on blockchain and digital asset matters, having served as in-house counsel for a blockchain/Web3 investment firm for the Kakao group.
Prior to joining SEUM, Paul was a partner at Barun Law, one of Korea’s leading law firms, where he advised on a significant number of cross-border transactions, finance, private equity investments, digital assets, labor, and general corporate matters, as well as cross-border disputes.
