Caitlin Connell advises clients on real estate transactions, with a focus on commercial leasing, purchase and sale agreements, and wine industry acquisitions and contracts. She negotiates and drafts purchase and sale agreements, leases, subleases, licenses, easements, property management agreements, and service contracts for transactions involving parties in the tech, bioscience, retail, hospitality, and wine industries, as well as cultural institutions. She prides herself on providing thoughtful, responsive, and efficient service to her clients.
Caitlin administers the due diligence and closing of real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including industrial, office, multi-family, mixed-used, and winery projects, as well as agricultural land and undeveloped land. She represents and advises landlords and tenants regarding leasing, assignment, subleasing, property management, defaults, disputes, and termination. She also has significant experience facilitating the financing aspects of real estate transactions.
Prior to specializing in real estate transactions at Coblentz, Caitlin practiced real estate and business litigation. She also assisted businesses in employment and discrimination matters, including defense of employee and third-party discrimination and accessibility claims, employment contract disputes, and staffing agreements. Her experience prosecuting, defending, and resolving legal disputes gives her a unique perspective towards protecting and achieving her clients’ business goals.
Caitlin is a member of the Commercial Leasing practice area committee of the California Lawyers Association. She formerly served as President and Secretary of Napa County Women Lawyers, and President and Vice President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Napa County Bar Association.
Caitlin earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she contributed to the UC Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly and was President of the UC Hastings Association of Students for Kids. She earned her B.A. in political science and sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
