Dan Bruggebrew is an experienced litigator who handles complex civil matters in federal, California state, and administrative courts, as well as an advisor and guide to individuals and companies navigating government inquiries, enforcement actions, internal investigations, and pre-litigation resolution of disputes.
Dan is a partner in the firm’s Chambers-ranked White Collar Defense and Investigations group, where his government enforcement defense experience ranges from conducting internal investigations and managing responses to government investigations, to preparing clients and experts for deposition and testimony, to coordinating large individual- and multi-defendant litigation teams in discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal. Most recently, Dan has been a key member of the trial team, including by taking trial testimony of a key government witness, defending against one of the largest regulatory enforcement actions in U.S. banking history.
In addition, Dan focuses on defending Bay Area employers in wage-and-hour class actions, including against representative claims under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and in cases involving claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
