Biography
From our Baton Rouge office, LaDonna focuses on property insurance coverage, bad faith claims litigation, and litigation. LaDonna was born and raised in Northeast Louisiana. She graduated magna cum laude from Northeast Louisiana University in 1989, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government with a minor in Accounting. After graduating from college, LaDonna worked as a paralegal in the legal community until she graduated from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans.
LaDonna was a Moot Court staff member and teaching assistant at Loyola University, graduating in 2003 with her Juris Doctor and a certificate in International Studies. After being admitted in 2003, LaDonna began her career working primarily in the admiralty and maritime field where she gained litigation experience in bench trials, jury trials, and arbitration matters. Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, LaDonna joined Lugenbuhl where her practice has focused on representing insurers in both pre-litigation matters and litigation involving the defense of first-party claims, extra-contractual claims, and bad faith claims on both commercial and residential properties. She has handled the defense of catastrophic claims involving Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike, Gustav, and Isaac.
To further assist her insurer clients, LaDonna obtained her license to practice in Texas State and Federal courts in 2010. After having participated in hundreds of mediations, LaDonna attended The Mediation Institute in 2013 where she completed 40 hours of training in civil, commercial and employment mediations and 40 hours of training in family and divorce mediations, qualifying her to act as a mediator in the State of Louisiana.
