Biography
Lugenbuhl shareholder, Shaundra Schudmak’s practice areas include insurance coverage, insurance defense, bad faith claims, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, property damage claims, commercial litigation, torts, premises liability, public sector liability, and pre-litigation consulting.
Shaundra has substantial litigation experience both in state and federal courts. Since joining Lugenbuhl in 2013, she has worked diligently to partner with clients to rectify matters through pre-litigation consulting, negotiations, and trial. She has effectively managed every aspect of the claim and litigation process, and is passionate about resolving matters in a fair and expeditious manner. She is detail-oriented and proficient at identifying and isolating issues in dispute. Her unique skills combined with her calm confidence resonates with her clients to earn their trust for resolving matters. Her ability to make clients feel at ease in tricky situations has led her to also earn plaintiff representation experience with complex property insurance claims, personal injury, medical malpractice, and civil rights claims. Shaundra has also been selected to serve as a panel arbitrator for the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc.
Shaundra graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice. Thereafter, she worked for a real estate law firm in Atlanta, Georgia before attending law school. In 2008, she received her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law from Louisiana State University School of Law. She also earned a Certificate in Global Arbitration Law and Practice from the Hamline Dispute Resolution Institute. She ultimately found her niche when she started as a clerk for an insurance defense firm providing in-house counsel services for a large national insurance company, and then a boutique firm handling primarily insurance and public sector liability disputes.
Shaundra Schudmak is admitted to practice law in the State of Louisiana and the State of Georgia. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, as well as the United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit. She has appellate experience in all five Louisiana appellate courts, as well as before the Louisiana Supreme Court and United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit.
