Mark has a proactive approach and is often involved on behalf of clients from the outset of the tendering and negotiation phases, through early works and MOUs, up to execution of the agreed contract. Post contract he advises on subcontract and consultancy arrangements, ongoing contract management, procurement and the engagement of service providers, including development of master services or standing order arrangements, right through to renegotiation and renewal of existing term contracts.
He has a particular interest in large scale infrastructure projects delivered by specially tailored or innovative contracting arrangements such as early contractor involvement, EPC and EPCM, consolidation agreements, joint ventures and alliances.
Mark has acted for Principals and Contractors along with subcontractors, trade contractors, architects, consultants, suppliers as well as working in-house. He understands the commercial needs from each perspective and strives to ensure that contracts achieve balanced and workable outcomes for clients. He is an active member of the Queensland Law Society Construction and Infrastructure Committee and in 2010 he was named in the Australian as one of the top 100 lawyers in Australia as voted by Corporate Counsel (Monash University Survey of Corporate In house Counsel).
