Akindele Phillips holds a bachelor’s degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). He was a recipient of several national academic awards and scholarships during his academic years. He has attended some courses in recent times including ‘Building, Leading, and Sustaining the Innovative Organization’ at Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Sloan School of Management, ‘Blue Ocean Strategy’ course at the Lagos Business School, Nigeria and Oxford Executive Leadership Program at Said Business School, University of Oxford.
Akindele has led several teams providing accounting, tax and financial advisory services to start-ups, SMEs and big organizations. He has provided these services to entities operating in multiple sectors in Nigeria, outside of the country and continent. He has almost two decades of experience as an audit practitioner. Before starting Phillips Akindele & Co, he was an Audit Practitioner with KPMG Professional Services, Nigeria, executing statutory and non statutory audit assignments, especially in the Energy Sector. Akindele sits on the board of a number of companies as a Non-Executive Director and as an Advisor.
