A native of San Francisco, Steve earned a BS in accounting from the University of San Francisco. He then joined the audit department of Ernst & Whinney, San Francisco, later transferring to the San Jose office where he served hi-tech clients during the first large IPO boom in the mid 1980s. While in San Jose, Steve gained tax experience and soon decided that this was the career for him.He joined Calegari & Morris in 1985, and began working on a MS in taxation, which he received in 1992. Steve has developed what he calls an “aggressively proactive” service model. He speaks with his clients on a regular basis to understand their progress during the year and to guide them toward their goals, ensuring that every effort is made to maximize cash flows and minimize taxes.Steve serves a wide variety of clientele, placing particular emphasis on construction companies, mid-size commercial entities, and the individuals who own them. He’s developed keen expertise in both assisting companies to select the legal entity that best supports their business and personal objectives and in structuring transactions that take advantage of this foundation. It is Steve’s goal is to become the first person his clients turn to with financial concerns.
