Ross is a Audit and Business Advisory Partner and provides the core services of audit, accounting and tax advice to SMEs. Ross also has strong corporate finance experience and handles M&A deals, financial due diligence and valuations assignments. Additionally, Ross is the partner responsible for Mercer & Hole’s Outsourcing offering and leads a team which specialises in providing cloud accounting services.
Ross’ client base varies considerably; ranging from farmers to market leaders in disruptive industries, such as e-sports clients. With experience in the agricultural, leisure and hospitality, media, property development, and transport and logistics sectors, Ross advises SMEs, privately owned companies, UK subsidiaries of overseas companies and growing businesses. Regardless of industry or structure, Ross has the common aim of helping his clients overcome problems, whether real or perceived to enable them to get on with running their business.
Ross likes to get out of the office and meet clients where their business actually takes place. With experience gained in both practice and industry, Ross’ insightful and commercially focused business advice together with his technical expertise suits those with big ambitions for their business. Ross also gains a great deal of satisfaction from putting together specialist teams to ensure that is clients receive a timely, co-ordinated, first class service in relation to every aspect of their requirement.
Ross originally trained with KPMG and spent over 12 years with the firm. Ross spent the next five years as the Group Financial Controller of a market leading FTSE 250 Group, overseeing the internal and external financial reporting process, implementation of a global finance system as well as leading and developing the wider Group Finance function. Ross joined Mercer & Hole as a partner in 2015.
Having spent time living and working in France and Denmark, Ross now lives in Hertfordshire with his young family. He has a keen interest in sport, particularly golf, skiing and football. Ross has completed three marathons and is set to run more. He organises an annual Charity Golf Day, which is attended by over 100 people and was a successful leader in the Dragon’s Apprentice scheme, which saw his team win the prize for the most funds raised.
