Lyn specialises in advising on corporate and property transactions; reorganisations; succession planning; HMRC disputes and investigations; and inheritance tax and estate planning. Lyn also has extensive experience and interest in VAT consultancy. Lyn has acted as an Expert Witness in Tax and VAT related professional negligence claims and is experienced in providing second opinions for other accountants and the legal profession. Lyn regularly delivers presentations to professional bodies and businesses across a range of sectors. Lyn’s experience and advice draws on the combination of her background and training in law, accountancy and tax together with ensuring that the commercial aspects of any transaction or planning are considered.
Lyn has a Law Degree from Queen's University Belfast. She also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Queen's University Belfast coming first in her year and was awarded the Sir Charles Harvey Award from the Irish Management Institute . Lyn is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Lyn joined Goldblatt McGuigan in 1992 and was appointed as Partner in 2004. She is a Member of the CAI Northern Ireland Tax Committee, a Member of the UK VAT Practitioners Group and is the GMcG representative member of the NI Chamber of Commerce. Lyn also enjoys spending time with her family, sailing and travelling.
