Mr. Ismael Falcón Ortega CPA, CVA is the President and Founder of Falcón Sánchez & Associates PSC, a Certified Public Accountants and Business Consulting Firm, founded 25 years ago. He is also president of Falcón Sánchez Consulting Group Inc., which specializes in offering multiple services in the areas of performance measurement and evaluation for institutional and special projects, strategic planning and IT Consulting, Business Valuations, Mergers and Acquisitions, Business Turnarounds and Sarbanes/Oxley consulting, among others services. Prior to establishing his own firm, he worked for eight years, including managerial positions with two of the main international CPA firms (Deloitte and Touche and Horwath & Horwath International) rendering services in multiple locations including Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Ecuador and Los Ángeles, California. During his successful professional career he has specialized in the areas of audit and management consulting providing services to an array of companies dedicated to the retail, distribution, leisure time industry, manufacturing, financial institutions, services, government and non profit institutions.
EDUCATION:
Ismael Falcón Ortega is graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, in 1972, where he obtained his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He is a member of the Puerto Rico Certified Public Accountants Society, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Valuation Analyst. (NACVA). He also holds the Sarbanes/Oxley Credential (CSox) issued by Sox Institute. Besides participating in the continuing education programs of these organizations, he regularly attends the Executive Business programs and workshops sponsored by the Graduate School of Commerce of the University of Michigan, focusing in strategic planning, evaluation of client satisfaction and The World Business Forum, a professional organization that promotes the discussion and application of the most innovative leadership skills and practice to be successful in a globalized and highly competitive and technological market.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS:
Mr. Falcón was the past president of Bayamón Chamber of Commerce and treasurer during three years for the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico. In 1992, 1996 and 2000, he presided the Committee of Governmental Platform of the Puerto Rico Certified Public Accountant Society, during which he assisted in formulating economic development strategies to share with government candidates for the election processes of these years. In 2003, he was elected President of the Certified Public Accountants Society Strategic Planning Committee which designed a five year plan that served as a work guide in the Certified Public Accountant Society until 2008.
He is currently the President of The Alliance for the Economic and Social Development of Puerto Rico. Under his leadership he has successfully completed the integration of the top 22 professional and entrepreneurial organizations in Puerto Rico that completed a strategic action plan that has the objective to unite all the private sector and key government officials to turnaround the economy to generate and estimated annual growth of, at least, 3 to 5%.
Mr Falcón is also part of the committee 2014, an initiative that develops the Puerto Rico Community Foundation that looks to integrate to the private sector in the transformation of intermediate schools of the public education systems in Puerto Rico in the next ten years.
