Ruqayyah Nuckcheddy completed her professional education in 2006 becoming a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. During her studies, she was ranked first in Mauritius for the papers Audit and Internal Review in December 2004 and Audit and Assurance Services in June 2005.
She joined Comprehensive Financial Services/Accounting & Consulting Group Ltd, a firm of accountants, in 2003 as a trainee accountant and was promoted as a team leader in 2006 and audit manager in 2009. In 2017, she was licensed by the Financial Reporting Council to act as auditor and was thus admitted as a partner in both Comprehensive Financial Services and Accounting & Consulting Group Ltd. Her experience in the firm includes inter alia:
Doing audit and taxation for a wide variety of clients operating in sectors such as hotel & tourism, manufacturing, trading, services, health, venture capital funds, global businesses including CIS managers, Investment Dealers, Investment Advisers etc. and companies whose activities are regulated by the Bank of Mauritius such as money changers.
Be responsible for undertaking complex accounting work such as:
Preparation of consolidation workings and consolidated financial statements for complex groups operating both locally and internationally. This includes acquisitions, mergers, changes in group structures, etc.
Doing accounting and preparing reports for investment funds.
Preparing report on behalf of insurance companies in respect of claims such as damages to inventories, loss of profits, thefts, etc.
Performing various consulting work such as business valuations, feasibility studies, advising clients on various financial issues.
She is also responsible for the administration of Comprehensive Financial Services and Accounting & Consulting Group Ltd and therefore manages the various departments of the firm. Her work include also the responsibility for quality control and all technical issues that may arise with respect to the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
