2023 Annual Review: A Year to Remember
The past year was memorable for TAG Alliances despite geopolitical challenges and global conflict. The cornerstone of TAG Alliances' continued success is our passionate members, who have made us the global powerhouse TAG Alliances has become. It is a testament to our members' success that our members’ combined annual revenue continued to rise, exceeding the US $5 billion mark in 2023. TAG Alliances maintained its position as the third largest multidisciplinary alliance globally for the 12th straight year, and, for the 10th year, TAGLaw achieved "Elite" status with Chambers & Partners, one of the most reputable legal ranking agencies worldwide. Adding many new members to our global community has also increased business opportunities between our members and now provides legal and accounting support in over 110 countries worldwide.
In this year's Annual Review, we celebrate the successes of our members and look back at memorable moments that defined 2023.
We held two exceptional International Conferences in 2023, highlighted by outstanding keynote speakers discussing important topics impacting the professional services industry.
Our Spring International Conference was held in Chicago in May 2023, where we heard from one of our most memorable keynote speakers to date, Bob Gray, a memory expert. Bob trained participants to use memory and name recognition techniques as a business asset to improve client relationships, instill trust, and increase retention to foster genuine client relationships. It was wonderful to see our members in Chicago applying Bob's techniques to recall the names of all the conference participants.
We also had the inimitable Allan Koltin, the merger guru and strategic professional services consultant extraordinaire, join us in his hometown of Chicago. Allan led our Managing Partner & Firm Leader track at the conference, providing firm leaders with guidance on critical issues impacting their profession, objective feedback on leadership skills, and advice on managing organizational crises and change.
At our spectacular Fall International Conference in Rome, we were fortunate to have two experts in Artificial Intelligence, Gerd Leonhart and Ash Fontana, provide keynotes on different approaches to utilizing AI. Gerd, a futurist, emphasized the need for human-only skills and traits to transcend tools and technology and to home in on what makes us truly human rather than compete with smart machines. Ash took a more pragmatic view of AI. He offered an executable guide for applying AI to current business problems and provided an AI playbook for budget-conscious firms to identify strategies and tactics to implement AI effectively.
We also held several Regional Meetings around the world, including member-hosted events in Bangkok (Asia Pacific) and Malta (European, Middle East, & Africa). These Regional Meetings provided opportunities for local and regional discussions, quality engagement, and relationship building, with excellent networking events. They also allowed the host firms to promote their offerings and showcase their expertise.
Our global and regional events over the year, including the numerous networking opportunities available to our members, allow us to build strong, authentic business relationships with each other, cement trust and integrity, and strengthen our global community. Our latest referral analysis for 2023 indicates a significant increase in the business opportunities and collaboration generated between our members.
In 2023, The TAG Foundation provided charitable contributions following natural disasters impacting the communities around the world where our members operate. In addition, through local philanthropic initiatives, our members exhibited TAG Alliances' culture and spirit of kindness, compassion, empathy, and a deep commitment to being leaders of positive change within their communities.
I am privileged to be navigating our organization into 2024 as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary. I thank our members for their continued loyalty, support, and dedication to making TAG Alliances the top multidisciplinary alliance worldwide. I would also like to acknowledge our Joint Advisory Board, which has provided invaluable strategic direction and advice to the TAG Alliances Executive Team. Finally, I am grateful to our extraordinary team at TAG Alliances. Your ability to innovate and maintain such boundless energy, dedication, enthusiasm, and service to our members continues to amaze me.
As a global organization conscious of the continuing uncertainty, geopolitical instability and conflict, natural disasters, and political turmoil facing us today, we constantly pray for peace and prosperity for all. We remain determined to help each other and assist our clients with their international journeys.
We look to a prosperous 2024, a year in which we will celebrate TAG Alliances' 25th Anniversary and our 50th International Conference in Nashville!
